Delivery Opportunity

The Sky is Open - The Sky is Blue - The Sky's the limit!

Open Blue is all about providing opportunity to those who need it most. It may be hard to believe that the sky is the limit if you are
* at school and can't settle
* isolated with young children in an area without good transport or facilities
* a young person with nowhere to go

Open Blue uses a bus to get on the road delivering opportunity to people in Wiltshire who see more grey clouds than blue sky. The bus has been totally gutted and refitted to particularly meet the needs of people who can't get to town centre community facilities.

Projects In Schools

Nurture Group Programmes

These are run in schools for small groups of pupils aged 11 to 13 who are having difficulty settling into school.
The goal will be to improve academic attainment and help them to make the most of mainstream school life.
Activities include developing emotional literacy, anger management, social skills and confidence building. The bus provides a comfortable and secure environment for pupils awway from the classroom environment.

Projects in Communities

After School Club

Operate for children up to 13 years old and provide a place to do homework, have tea and toast, watch DVDs or just chill out. Some of these programmes are supported by Wiltshire Childrens Fund.

Parent & Toddler groups

Run in partnership with Sure Start providing an early afternoon play session on the upper deck. Storytellers from Wiltshire Libraries, play workers and a health visitor attend some weeks.

The lower deck operates as a social area for adults including older members of the community and has potential for use for bite-size courses in computing and cookery.
